Vocabulary tests today.
Tuesday, September 14, 2004
update: all Vocabulary Tests were postponed last week due to my mother's illness. All classes will be tested on the words in Unit One on Friday, September 17.
this is a copy of an email I sent to all students and parents with email addresses:
Dear All,
I just want to say that I am extremely thankful to be back in the classroom. For anyone who is unaware, my mother has been in the hospital since last Wednesday. The doctor didn't think she would make it to see Thursday morning, but Mama fooled them. We brought her home yesterday. She is still weak, but recovering.
She had a urinary tract infection that spread to her blood. She couldn't tell us what was wrong since her vocabulary has shrunk with the Alzheimer's. Anyway, the fever caused dehydration, which caused a drop in blood pressure, kidney failure, and all kinds of awful things.
I will try to get back into the swing of things as soon as possible. I feel like I have been out forever instead of just three days.
Vocabulary tests were postponed. All classes will have the Vocabulary test on Friday.
hugs,
Connie Ratliff
