ALL GROUPS
Each student is rewriting a fairy tale. They are to keep the basic fairy tale and change the characters and setting. Each student should have a printed copy--double spaced and spell checked--by Monday. I have taken them to the Computer Lab in the Library three times, but some are still not finished. Please ask your child to read his or her story to you. I hope they will be as much fun to listen to as the examples I read to them.
Field Trip to San Jacinto--Friday, May 9
AR Field Trip
Qualifying students will go to Celebration Station in Houston, May 15. To Qualify PreAP students need 115 AR points, other students need 85 by end of school Thursday.
LA 1 and LA 2
We are reading the book Dragon of the Lost Sea by Laurence Yep. We are reading in class and assigned pages at home. Please have your child tell you about this book.
LA 4
This class is reading The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain to provide background information when they read Huck Finn in high school. It is a great book, but it is a bit difficult to understand due to the time period in which it was written. We are, therefore, reading most of it in class.
