ALL CLASSES
Tuesday is Library Day. Remember your library books.
I will be out on Wednesday, December 4. The father of the lady who sits with Mama died unexpectedly last Saturday. Penny has been busy with funeral arrangements and grieving. A family friend "visited" with Mama today. Another friend will do the honors on Tuesday. I will step in for Wednesday (the day of his funeral), and hope that Penny will be ready to come back on Thursday. I don't want to rush her, but Mama really misses her and does not understand why she isn't coming to the house.
LA 1 and LA 7
Study Unit 11 Spelling. Due to early out on Friday, we will have the Unit 11 Spelling test next Wednesday, December 11.
Unit 12 is a review of Units 7 to 11 so we will spend a week and a half on that unit. The test for Unit 12 will be on Wednesday, December 18
We are finishing A Ghost in the House by Betty Ren Wright which is worth (I think) four AR points. Students in these classes need 10 AR points EVERY Six Weeks.

Students are taking the AR test on Julie of the Wolves by Jean Craighead George. Groups of three discussed items they would need to take on an Arctic campout. We are in the process of comparing lists and having lively discussions on which items are the most important.

Vocabulary Workshop Unit 5. Study words, accented syllables, definitions, part of speech, synonyms, antonyms, and correct use in sentences. Test will be sometime next week.
