I am really excited about our writing. This week students have written on a variety of topics. We write for 7 minutes skipping lines. We then read what we have written with the others at our tables (yes, I have been writing with them to model the process.) As we read, our partners help us identify words we can look up in our Thesaurus. When everyone is finished sharing, we look these words up to see if there might be a better choice. This has made an amazing difference in the quality of our writing. Today we are sharing one of these spruced up stories with the class.

We will also view an episode of "I Love Lucy" to practice predicting and provide background for writing about humorous episodes in our lives.
