ALL CLASSES
Today Mrs. Mitchell came in to each class with a Life Preserver. She talked with the students about the "LifeSavers" in our lives. The students brainstormed ideas for people and other things(pets, stuffed animals, etc.) that could serve as lifesavers. They came up with ways a LifeSaver could help make life easier. She ended by giving each of us a LifeSaver Candy to help us remember our lesson.
We did a prewriting exercise using the alphabet to help generate ideas for a composition. We will pick it back up later to write our stories.
LA 1 and LA 7
I read Run Away Home....and be free. This book is filled with ideas that compliment Mrs. Mitchell's lessons. The students seem to enjoy this story. They will take the AR test when we finish the book.
LA 4
This class begged for Silent Reading Time in the Classroom. I was happy to allow for this since I am reading a really good book myself!

Hooray, my dog, Bandit, has been found! Mr. David Green found him on a porch visiting a neighbor down highway 457. Don't know if the storm spooked him, or if he was running away from home. Just hope he stays put now.
